Old Ranch Road: A Country Feel in a Bustling Town
Tom Johnson, a former resident of Prospector Park has just moved into his new house on Old Ranch Road with his wife, Lisa. Looking for a quieter neighborhood with more land and sweeping views, associates at Jess Reid Real Estate helped the Johnson family handle the sale of their Prospector home and find their perfect empty-nester house in the up-and-coming Snyderville basin area on Old Ranch Rd.
With the Swaner Nature Preserve to the front and open space to the back, their cozy new home has views guaranteed for a lifetime, making Old Ranch Road an attractive place to settle in and enjoy the natural splendors that Park City has to offer. We asked them a few questions about the neighborhood to give our readers an inside perspective on living in this beautiful area.
What is your favorite thing about living on Old Ranch Rd.?
The view. We have views of all three ski resorts, especially Canyons. Sitting in the living room with the fireplace on and a cat on your lap, admiring the views is a cozy and relaxing environment.
How does the new neighborhood compare to Prospector?
It is much quieter, and much more secluded. We have two kids that went through the Park City School District and Prospector was great for that. They could walk to school and take the bus almost anywhere. Now as empty-nesters, we enjoy the seclusion of Old Ranch Rd.
Have you taken advantage of any recreational opportunities nearby?
We back right up to Round Valley, and we really enjoy the hiking and biking in the summer. We are also very close to the Newpark Recreational center which has classes in both Newpark and their Trailside location.
What made you decide Old Ranch Rd. out of all the neighborhoods in Park City?
It is a very attractive area for the price range, and we knew we wanted more land. We also looked in Silver Creek, Park Meadows, and Sun Peak, and we chose Old Ranch Rd. because of the value and lot size. We thought we might want to have animals in the future, and Old Ranch Rd. is zoned for horses. It was a perfect fit.
